The Gaming Perspective
The Gaming Perspective
I’ve been a gamer since the introduction of video games. I can remember having a Pong console at home. I then moved up to the, amazing for its time, Atari 2600. While I continued to acquire and play on all the consoles that were released eventually I got a Commodore 64 which introduced me to the world of computer gaming. I played games on anything I could get my hands on: SNES, Sega Dreamcast, Atari Jaguar and so on. Coming all the way forward to the present day in which I have all the major consoles and a beefy top of the line gaming PC. You could say I am of the first generation of gamers who “grew up” playing video games.
I am technically affluent and actually got my professional start in the gaming industry as C programmer. I was working at 7th Level as they shipped their last titles and sold the rest of their games off to Ion Storm before closing up shop. During that period, the late 90s, working in the gaming industry was like working in a sweat shop. You didn’t get the best of pay and I’ve experienced some of the worst crunches you can imagine. After my stint at 7th Level I decided I just wanted play games and not make them. Since then I’ve followed the games and specifically the gaming business. I’m waiting for the right time to pull the trigger on opening my own studio up. That day is still coming.
Until then I want to share my thoughts on what is happening in the gaming industry. We are living in some interesting times and gaming is radically changing right before our eyes. I wanted to give the world a gaming perspective and hence this site was born.

Welcome to the gaming Perspective
Yes that is me on the left! In my spare time I toy with photography and photoshop. I also travel quite a bit. The pictures on the right are from my recent travels: Telluride, CO, the Pantheon in Greece and Disneyland’s castle in Winter mode.
